Are You Wealthy?

Net salaries like everything else in this world are relative.

To give you some perspective, if everyone in the country earned over a million dollars a year online, million dollar net salaries wouldn’t be regarded very highly.

Conversely, if everyone in the country earned only $10,000 a year, everyone would consider themselves wealthy.

Every once in a while, to keep everything in some perspective, it’s good to see how we compare to the rest of the world salary wise.

The following average per capita incomes for 2010 were obtained from the IMF and as you can see, the average American per capita income ranks well within the top ten worldwide.

  • Austria        $ 39,100
  • Australia         39,632
  • Brunei            47,500
  • Hong Kong         45,000
  • Luxembourg        80,000
  • Netherlands       40,800
  • Norway            52,230
  • Qatar             88,300
  • Singapore         57,230
  • Switzerland       41,800

If you were born an American or in any one of the above countries and earned only a mediocre net salary, your standard of living is way above the poverty level and you would be considered wealthy citizens in many world countries.

So what are top net salaries of Americans compared to those of citizens around the world?

How would your expected salary stack up?

The 2010 Internal Revenue Service database numbers provide the statistics that you often hear about in the media, of the top wage earners in America.

Here is how the combined 99% of American wage earners fare in comparison to the top 1%.

50% of Americans earn less than $33,048

The top 25% of Americans earn $67,280

The top 10% of Americans earn $113,799

The top 5% earn 159,619

and the top 1% earn 380,354

When you compare the Top 25% of American incomes to the list of the Top 10 per capita income countries in the world, you will quickly see that our standard of living is considered wealthy in most countries and certainly way above world poverty levels.

Top net salaries are based on worldwide statistics and unless your Internet business is focused on international trade where unfair wage practices might be a factor, the wages of the rest of the world never significantly impact net salaries in our country.

The only limits to what top net salaries will be are what an individual puts on them self.
